The short version

We use one essential cookie to remember your consent choice, and Google Analytics to count visits. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers beyond Google. You can refuse the lot via the banner when you arrive, or change your mind any time using the link in the footer.

01What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device — phone, tablet, laptop — so it can remember something about you next time. They're not programs; they can't run code or read other files. They can however be used to track behaviour across visits, which is why the law makes us ask permission first.

"Cookies" in this policy also covers similar technologies like local storage and pixels — anything that stores data on your device or tracks the request your browser makes.

02Cookie categories

We group the cookies on this site into two categories:

Strictly necessary

Needed to make the site work. These don't need your consent under UK law. Example: remembering which cookies you've already said yes or no to.

Analytics

Help us understand how the site is used in aggregate — most-visited pages, popular murals, how people find us. We don't set these until you've consented.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social-media trackers.

03Cookies we set

Here's the complete list of cookies and similar storage used by paisleymurals.co.uk, last verified on 22 May 2026.

If this list ever drifts out of date, please email us — we'd genuinely like to know.

04Third-party cookies

The only third-party service that sets cookies on this site is Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Ltd. Analytics is loaded only after you've consented.

Google's own privacy and cookie information is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can also install Google's official opt-out browser add-on to block GA on every site you visit.

We embed images and the Leaflet map library from a small number of static hosts (Google Fonts, unpkg.com). These don't set cookies, but your IP address is necessarily visible to them when your browser requests the file.

06Browser controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Here are the official guides:

Blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, will break the cookie banner itself — it'll ask you again on every visit, which is annoying but harmless.

07Do Not Track

If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" header, we treat it as a refusal of analytics cookies, even before you've interacted with the banner. There's no agreed standard for DNT and most sites ignore it; we don't.

08Questions
