The short version
Walk the trail, enjoy the art, take all the photos you want for personal use. Don't deface the murals, don't strip our content for a rival site, and please look up from your phone when you cross the road. We can't be held responsible for things outside our control — most importantly, the streets themselves and what's painted on them.
01About these terms
These terms apply to your use of paisleymurals.co.uk ("the site"), operated by Paisley on the web of 14 High Street, Paisley, PA1 2BS. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do.
02Using the site
You may use the site to:
- Read about the Paisley Mural Trail.
- Browse the interactive map and walking notes.
- Share links to our pages on social media.
- Print the trail map for personal use.
You agree not to:
- Scrape or systematically copy the site to republish it elsewhere.
- Use automated tools to overload the server or extract our database of mural locations.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its server, or any connected database.
- Use the site in any way that breaks UK law.
03Walking the trail
The Paisley Mural Trail follows public streets and lanes. We don't own them, we don't manage them, and we can't promise they'll be safe, accessible, or in any particular condition when you visit.
Walk sensibly
- Watch traffic, especially on Causeyside and Gauze Street.
- Some lanes are narrow and may be poorly lit after dark — we'd suggest visiting in daylight.
- The route is mostly flat but includes pavement curbs, cobbles and the occasional uneven surface.
- If a mural is on private property (a hotel back wall, a shop gable), please respect the boundary and view it from the public footpath.
The walking distances, times and zones quoted on the site are approximate. Your mileage will vary depending on how long you stop to look.
04Copyright & the murals
The site itself — the writing, the layout, the trail data, the icons and the photographs commissioned by us — is © 2026 Paisley on the web unless otherwise marked. You may quote short extracts with credit and a link.
The murals themselves belong to the artists who painted them. Each artist retains the copyright in their work. Photographs of the murals on this site are reproduced with the artists' permission for the purpose of running the trail.
If you want to reproduce a mural commercially — on merchandise, in a publication, in advertising — you'll need to contact the artist directly. We're happy to put you in touch; email enquiries@paisleymurals.co.uk with the mural number and what you want to do.
05Photos & sharing
Take all the photos you like for personal, non-commercial use — that's the whole point of the trail. Share them on Instagram, Facebook, anywhere you like. We'd love it if you tagged us with #PaisleyMurals or #PaisleyMuralTrail.
For commercial use of mural photographs (selling prints, using in advertising, including in a paid book or film), please contact the relevant artist for permission first.
06Your contributions
If you send us photos, suggestions, corrections, or other content — by email, WhatsApp, or social media tag — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it on the site and in trail materials, with credit where practical. You can ask us to take down anything you've contributed at any time.
You confirm that anything you send us is yours to share — i.e. that you took the photo, or have the rights to use it.
07Third-party links
The site links to other websites — Paisley First, Visit Paisley, the artists' own pages, social media, mapping services. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
08Liability
The site is provided "as is." We make every effort to keep it accurate, but we don't warrant that:
- Every mural on the map is still there — they get painted over, moved, or weathered.
- Routes shown are the safest or shortest possible — they're our suggestions.
- The site will always be available or free of errors.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paisley on the web is not liable for any loss or damage — including injury, lost time, lost data, or consequential loss — arising from your use of the site or your visit to the trail. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, and does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
09Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any dispute that can't be settled by talking will be heard in the Scottish courts.
10Contact
Questions about these terms, takedown requests, or anything else — please email enquiries@paisleymurals.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp on 07957 166339.
Spotted a mistake on the trail?
If a mural's been painted over, repainted, or the route has changed — let us know and we'll update it. Local knowledge keeps the trail accurate.
